On Thursday, 21 September, more than 150 insurance industry professionals met at the National Military Museum in the heart of the Netherlands. The reason for this meeting was the annual FRAUDtalks event organized by FRISS. The substantive program offered seven inspiring stories, all of which were linked to the subject of fraud.
Knowledge sharing is key
Within the fraud community, sharing experiences and information is an important aspect of resolving more fraud issues and promoting fair insurance. It also promotes cooperation between policy, practice and product in order to combat fraud more effectively. FRAUDtalks is responding to this need in a surprising and innovative manner.
Under the watchful eye of chairman of the day Dick Berlijn, each speaker was given 18 minutes to present his or her subject. The speakers this time were Tykn, Deloitte, Dutch Data Protection Authority, Brightmaven, Behavioral Insights Team, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and an author. Between the presentations, a tour was conducted by former soldiers. The good atmosphere was also apparent after all the speeches during the network drinks held among the F16s.
FRAUDtalks initiator Gerwin Marskamp: “Our aim is first and foremost to arrange an interesting event in a unique location, with unique and substantive stories for the target audience. The participants have conveyed their appreciation and informed us that we have achieved our goal. I can look back with satisfaction at another interesting FRAUDtalks event. As far as I am concerned, we will continue these talks in the manner our clients are used to”.
